Prior to completing the conversion, please confirm the below requirements are in place:

  • You have emailed [email protected] the serial number of your machine, this can be found on the back in the bottom corner.

  • The machine is connected to the internet via a LAN cable

  • If your kiosk was set up by your IT department and has a static IP address, please make a note of this or ask IT to complete the upgrade.

To complete the upgrade you must have:

5. Picture of the serial number (located at the back of the kiosk)

Setting up the boot tool

Once Rufus has downloaded set the boot device file location to the disc image (ISO) file you have download. Plug your USB into your machine, Rufus should automatically recognize the USB. Under "Boot Selection" locate and select the ISO that you downloaded then click open.

Click start. In the pop up window make sure "Write in ISO image mode" is selected and click OK.

Click Ok in the USB data being destroyed pop up.

Rufus will begin creating your boot device, this can take several minutes.

Once you have your bootable USB plug this into the back of your Kiosk along with a USB keyboard.

Then follow the below steps:

  1. Shutdown the machine and turn off the power

  2. Now be ready to frantically press F11

  3. Turn on the power while rapidly pressing F11 on the keyboard

  4. Stop pressing when the below image appears & use the arrow buttons and enter to select the USB device

Providing the above has been done correctly you will see the below:

You can either press enter or let the install start automatically.

Once the install is complete please remove the USB BOOT device, if the install seems to begin again (turn off the power before install restarts, and remove USB – then turn on the power again)

Now the machine is powered on and has a cabled LAN connection, it will boot and begin the automated configuration process (if it does not boot automatically, then please start the internal PC unit with a short press on the power button located on the back just above the LAN connection).

You are now able to configure the Kiosk on Linux by following the below steps:

  1. Enter the serial number in the prompt box (this is the photo you took earlier)

  2. We have a pretty good logistics process, but even the best processes can sometimes go wrong 😅. If for some reason we have missed the right location, please press abort, and contact us at [email protected] with your details and the serial number(s) of the provided kiosk(s).

  3. Enter the activation code - We put a lot of effort into securing the TjeKvik application and the networks we are connecting the TjeKvik kiosk too, so this step is a little tricky since we need to make it difficult to manipulate for “unwanted intruders”.

So, you will need to go to the TjeKvik Appointment Manager, and find the Terminal Manager to complete this step – see images below, and be aware that the codes expire rather fast:

  4. Success - Once you have this screen the automated configuration is a success, and all you need to do is press OK and the kiosk reboots.

All done 🙂
