Secured, weather-resistant, anti-theft kiosk designed to provide secure pick-up & drop-off for 24/7 use.
We recommend a competent person plan and carry out this installation. Please check the building plans for any underground pipes or cables.
Items to have in mind before installing:
The outdoor kiosk requires a power and data cable, please factor in a cable run before installation. There are female power and data cables within the kiosk, the cables should be connected within a weatherproof box. If you are running the cables outside of the kiosk then ensure the correct and secure conduit is used based on local electrical and ethernet regulations.
Be aware of the type of ground you are fixing into.
If you are installing a concrete base, the recommended size for the base would be 1 meter x 1 meter.
IMPORTANT:
For serial numbers up to 44022230156, your kiosk has 2 shipping bolts that need to be removed BEFORE mounting. You will need to remove the bolts circled in green (see below). A hex Allen key is supplied for this.
There are 2 versions of the inner cabinet: with a door or with a removable panel. You may have to open the inner door or remove the panel to access the shipping bolts.
When these bolts have been removed, your kiosk will be able to rotate. For full instructions, please go to the article, How to Rotate your Kiosk .
For kiosks from serial number 44022230157 onward, instructions on how to rotate your kiosk are in this article: How to Rotate your Kiosk.
Moving the kiosk into position
The kiosk can be easily moved into position with a pallet truck. To do this, you will need to remove the 6 screws from the front panel as shown (below left), then move the panel 10mm left, and the panel can be removed. When removing the back panel, slide it to the right to remove from the base.
Keep these cover panels and screws safe as you may use them after fixing the kiosk into place.
Options for mounting the kiosk
Depending on your preference, your kiosk can be fixed to the ground in two styles.
*If you choose the option with forklift risers removed, you will need to run the power and network cables in the ground, coming out in the center of the kiosk’s final location.
WARNING: Take extra caution when lifting or moving the kiosk with a forklift or jack trolley. The kiosk is 350kg and can be unstable when on a moving device.
To remove the forklift risers:
· Move the kiosk to the location you have prepared
· Remove the 6 bolts holding the base to the forklift risers.
· Use the forklift to raise the kiosk enough to remove the risers.
The cable connections are done in the base of the product, in junction boxes found behind the
metal cover. Cables are routed through the middle pallet riser or the base (floor/ground).
NOTE: Before attaching kiosk to ground, test the network using a laptop (with Wi-Fi disabled).
Mounting location of the kiosk:
IMPORTANT: In some situations, you will need to access the back of the terminal. To ensure you have access, you have two Options:
OPTION 1: Mount at least 420mm from any wall, building, etc. that is behind the kiosk.
OR
OPTION 2: Mount closer than 420mm, but ensuring the area to the right side is clear so the rear door can open when the kiosk is rotated.
OPTION 1: Kiosk is mounted AWAY from building, wall, etc.
OPTION 2: Kiosk is mounted NEAR a building, wall, etc.
Because you have removed the shipping bolts (see above), the kiosk can rotate 120 degrees, giving you access to the rear of the kiosk
Preparation of Mounting Surface
The mounting surface needs to be levelled and uncracked concrete of a recommended minimum thickness of 250mm, and minimum quality C20/25. The recommended size would be 1 meter x 1 meter.
Drill hole for 6 Expansion-anchors (e.g. HILTI HSA)
Size: M10
Bolt length: 100mm
Depth of drill hole: 116mm.
The physical installation must be able to hold a pull of 2 tons and support a weight of 350kg.
The base frame can be used as a template to mark up and drill holes. Level the base frame if needed and fix it to the ground. The holes are slotted to enable some adjustment of position.
The information below is meant as a guideline to plan the installation. For any physical installation requirements please contact a suitable engineer who will advise based on these details.
Install fixing points
Position the outdoor kiosk in place and fix using the correct fixings for the type of material you have drilled into.
Recommended fixings are M10 x 100mm or 120mm.
There is a template above to show the fixing points, however, we would recommend waiting until you position the hardware in place.
Cable Connections.
The cable connections are done in the base of the product, in junction boxes found behind the metal cover. Cables are routed through the middle pallet riser or the base (floor/ground).
1. Unscrew the metal cover as shown below to gain access to the inside of the
base where power and network cables are connected.
2. If you have kept the forklift risers, you will route the power and network cables
through the middle riser and you can pull them up to make the connections. If you
removed the forklift risers, your cables should already be accessible coming out of
the ground/floor.
Cable Connections:
In the round shaft, you will see 3 or 4 cables, with labels:
The cables are 220V separate power (120w).
The ethernet data cable is shielded and grounded at the connection point.
The 3rd cable is a cable for CCTV connectivity (a future feature with Tjekvik).
Some kiosks have a 220V power (120w) cable for the additional heater
3. The cables can be cable-tied to the connector as shown in red below to keep them
attached to the unit and accessible. Once they are connected and cable-tied, rotate the
kiosk with the rear access panel open to ensure there is free movement. (Rotation of kiosk is not needed if the rear door can open fully in the final fixed position)
If you have kept the forklift risers attached to the base, you can now reattach the front
and back cover panels removed earlier.
Consult a qualified electrician if wiring into a fused spur. The product is EMC-tested according to EN55032.
Network communication information can be found in the Advanced IT Settings article.
4. Once kiosk is mounted and connections are made, replace the protective rubber covers to hide the M10 bolts by pushing these over the installation holes. They can be removed in future if necessary.
Turning on your Tjekvik 24/7 Outdoor Kiosk
Check there is power at the main power switch in the top. Instructions on how to open the top of the kiosk are here. The circuit breaker needs to be up as shown here.
The PC should start when the kiosk has power. If this does not happen, you can manually start the kiosk by pressing the PC Restart button on the PC at the top of the kiosk.
Then follow the onscreen instructions to connect to your Tjekvik software.
If you have any problems, contact Tjekvik support at [email protected]
