Disable the alarm for your outdoor kiosk by going into the Terminal Settings in your Appointment Manager.
The keyhole to open the top door is behind a cover. Using the special screwdriver supplied with your kiosk, remove these screws to expose the keyhole. (keep the screws and cover somewhere safe)
There is a rubber weatherproof seal around this door which can make it difficult to turn the key. Press the door closed to make it easier to turn the key (this can be a 2-person job).
When the door is open, you will see the PC in front of you, and on the right, the main power supply for the kiosk. Switch this off by pushing the blue switch down.
Now that the power is off, you can replace the PC. First, remove the PC cover so you can see the connections inside the PC. There is a thumbscrew in the middle at the top of the PC here. Remove this screw and keep safe to use later. The PC cover will lift off when the screw has been removed.
With the faulty PC cover removed, please make note of the following connections. The easiest way to do this is to take some photos before you remove the faulty PC.
There are 2 sets of thin wires that enter the PC case in the bottom left.
Inside the faulty PC, you will see one set of these wires goes up to the left, and one set goes to the bottom right of the PC case. Take a photo like this so you can remember where these will go in the replacement PC. (if the wires are the same colours for both sets of wires, you may have to label or mark one of these so you can tell them apart)
The other connections to remember are at the top of the PC. Take a photo like this to help you connect these cables to the new PC. The USB connections can be reconnected anywhere on the PC, but some of the other cables have specific ports.
There are 2 cables on the left that look very similar, the Heater and Lockerboard. Try to get a photo that shows both labels like this so you know where to reconnect them later:
Now that you know where everything is connected, unplug all connections on top of the PC and the 2 connections inside the PC.
Remove the 4 nuts that hold the PC. Save the nuts to use again and remove the faulty PC.
Remove the cover of the new PC and attach to the kiosk with the nuts you removed in step 8.
Using the photo or notes you made in Step 6a, re-connect the two sets of thin wires that go in through the hole in the bottom left of the PC case:
Then reconnect the wires on top of the new PC using the photo or notes you made in Step 6b. The USB connections can be reconnected anywhere, but some of the other cables have specific ports.
When everything is reconnected, turn the main power on with the blue switch on the right.
If the PC does not immediately start up, you may need to use the round restart button on the top left of the PC case. Press for 2-3 seconds until you hear a beep from the PC.
If the PC and kiosk start up, you can replace the PC cover. Do a test Check In to ensure everything is working correctly and then close the top of the kiosk and replace the keyhole cover you removed in Step 1.
