Outdoor kiosk alarm integration guide overview:
The Tjekvik 24/7 Outdoor kiosk is a free-standing safe according to EN1143-1:2019. In addition to the robust mechanical security this kiosk offers, the alarm system created for Tjekvik outdoor kiosks enhances security by detecting unauthorized access or tampering.
It responds in two ways:
1. Audible Siren - Sounds when the alarm is triggered.
2. Disconnection Signal for Security Company - When the alarm is triggered, the signal to the security system is interrupted, which will notify the security company.
How it works:
A dedicated alarm cable is provided. When connected to a security system, it maintains a constant connection under normal conditions.
If one of the kiosk's sensors is activated - such as a door sensor detecting that a door was opened without a previous request from the system or a vibration sensor reacting to physical impact - the siren will immediately sound to deter tampering.
Simultaneously, the alarm cable connection will be cut. This signal loss is intended to be detected by the customer's connected security system and interpreted as an alarm condition.
Note: Integration is intended for customer self-installation. The provided cable must be connected to the customer's security system, which should recognize a loss of connection as an alarm event.
At the rear of the kiosk, near the bottom, there is an access panel for power, network, and a smaller, 2 pin cable for connecting to an alarm system. Connect your security system to this cable and then your security system will be notified if the kiosk alarm has been triggered. (an example of this cable is shown below)
When the alarm is enabled in our Admin or Appointment Manager application, the following sensors are activated:
Top door sensors - The alarm will trigger if the top door is opened without alarm being disabled in the Admin/AM.
Backdoor sensors – The alarm will trigger if the back door is opened without alarm being disabled in the Admin/AM.
Motion sensors – Detect impact and trigger the alarm if the kiosk is struck or shaken.
Locker sensors – Activate the alarm if someone attempts to force open a locker.
Important action required:
Before proceeding, please confirm with Tjekvik Customer Success whether your kiosk model supports this alarm feature. If it does not support the feature by default, the hardware must be retrofitted using the instructions in the attached guide,
"How to retrofit the multifunctional relay to the lockerboard," for instructions on connecting the siren and setting up the multifunctional relay.
