Before starting, disable the alarm in your Appointment Manager (Terminals page) if it is enabled.
Then you will need to ensure power is off in the kiosk. You will need to open the top of the kiosk with the unique key. There is a rubber weatherproof seal around this door which can make it difficult to turn the key. Press the door closed to make it easier to turn the key (this can be a 2-person job)
Once the top is open, find the main power switch on the right side and switch off by pushing this down.
And turn off the UPS (mounted above the PC) using the switch here:
Replacing wires for EN-Locks
Open the rear door of the kiosk with key or PIN code. Depending on your kiosk, to access the lockers, you will have to open the inner door with the same key, or remove the additional security plate (keep these screws for later):
The EN-locks are the grey boxes sat on a plate at the back of each locker. They are numbered here:
Near the faulty EN-Lock, find the wire connection. There may be some glue on the connector. This can be removed easily by scraping it away with your finger.
Carefully disconnect by gently pulling apart at the plastic connector. Do not disconnect by pulling the wires:
Then you will need to identify the port on the lockerboard for that locker.
In this photo, the wire for Locker #1 is being removed. Always pull the connector (the green box below), not the wires. As before, you may need to scrape off glue on the connector.
If you need to replace a wire for Lockers 6-10, these will be at the back of the board. You will not be able to read the locker port numbers at the back of the board, so I have labelled them here:
The larger connection will be in the way, so you may want to remove that temporarily for better access to the port for this wire. (see step 4 for a better view). Remove the larger connector carefully to get access to the EN-lock port behind it.
Peel away any glue to make it easier to unplug, then disconnect the EN-locker wire by pulling the connector carefully. Do not disconnect by pulling the wires.
Now you are ready to connect the new EN-lock wires. The old wires that you have disconnected are bundled so can be left in the kiosk. Push the new EN-lock wires into their port firmly and straight, not at an angle.
See below, locker #1 has the new EN-lock wire connected:
After connecting the new EN-lock wires for lockers 6-10, remember to plug in the larger connector that is in front of the EN-locker wire port.
See below, locker #6 the new EN-lock wire is being connected (green box), and then the larger connector is re-connected (yellow box)
After the wire replacement is complete, please tidy up the cables using cable ties or tape.
Then turn power back on using the switch in the top of the kiosk and at the UPS.
Using Appointment Manager, perform test openings for the lockers with new EN-lock wires to ensure they are working now. You can also do an Open All Lockers test. Instructions for that function are in this Article.
When you have successfully tested the lockers with new wires, you can close the kiosk and enable the alarm again (if it was enabled previously).
