Before you start, are you sure it is a faulty lock, and not the key?
If your lock is not working, have you tried using a different key? When you received your kiosk, you would have been given a set of 4 keys. If the lock and key have the same number printed on them, they should work.
On the back of your kiosk, you will have a top door and bottom door. Try different keys in both locks. If one door does not open, but the other door opens, then there is a problem with the lock.
To replace a lock, you will need to open the door with the faulty lock. If the door is locked, there are two options.
If the top lock needs to be replaced, you may need to drill it out to open the top door. Please ask [email protected] for advice.
If the bottom lock needs to be replaced, you can open this manually.
To open the bottom door when it is locked:
Open the top door.
There is a silver, spring-loaded, pin that holds the bottom door in place at the top-left.
Reach through the top door opening and down, behind the lower door. You will feel the spring loaded pin. It looks like this from the inside:
Reach behind the door and push this down until the top of the pin drops enough for the door to come out of the hinge like this:
With your hand inside the door, slowly but firmly pull to the left and away from the kiosk. The lock will hold the door for a while, but it will come free after it moves 2-3 cm (1 inch). Do this slowly so you so not damage the kiosk.
When the lock is not holding the door closed, you can lift it off the bottom pin that acts as a hinge.
Now you can replace the faulty lock in the bottom door.
Replacing the lock
To attach the new lock, you will first need to remove the parts shown in the yellow and green boxes. Save these to be used later.
If this piece come off, put back in place, making sure it sits flat on the lock.
From the front, put the lock in place with the numbers at the top.
Then, from the back, fit the washer, then the locking nut (shown in green box above). Tighten until secure.
Then fit the locking bar and nut. The locking bar points outward as shown. Then insert the key and make sure the lock turns easily.
While in the unlocked position (locking bar pointing down), fit the door, bottom pin first, then push the top pin down and release into the top hole. Now you can close the door and lock the kiosk.
