This is an easy job that should be done every 6 months to ensure you always have access to your Tjekvik Outdoor kiosk.

In some cases, the battery in the keypad has run out of charge and you cannot open the rear door. In this situation, open the top door (front) of the kiosk using your key. When you open it, you will find the emergency battery connection. Connect a new battery to this and you will be able to use the keypad to open the back door.

How to replace the battery in the keypad

  1. Using your PIN code, open the rear door of your kiosk.

  2. Unscrew the metal plate to access the back of the keypad.

  3. When you have done this, you will be able to remove the metal plate and keypad together.

  4. There are wires from the keypad that pass through the metal back plate, but you can separate the keypad from the metal plate enough to change the battery. (be careful as the metal plate is heavy)

  5. Now you can remove the 9 volt battery and replace with a new battery.

  6. Then, all you need to do is put the keypad back onto the metal back plate.

  7. And screw the metal plate back into place.

  8. IMPORTANT: Before you close the door, the lock should be tested to ensure everything is working perfectly. Using the keypad, unlock the door, wait for it to lock, then unlock again.
